The final phase of project for VKG Energia OU is successfully completed

Within 72 hours, the tests for quality of outgoing water and capacity of equipment designed specifically for a new oil shale processing plant Petroter II belonging to Concern VKG Energia OU were carried out. In customer satisfaction review, the Customer came to a conclusion that the above work is fully complete and its quality complies with the contractual requirements:                                                                                                                                                                                                                        


  • Set of equipment is capable to uninterruptedly produce and supply demineralized-deaerated water with 40 m3/h flow to VKG Oil AS Petroter II Plant. 
  • Electrical conductivity of feed water: not more than 0.2 µS/cm
  • Content of silicic acid: not more than 0.02 mg/l
  • Total iron: not more than 0.02 mg/l
  • Total copper: not more than 0.003 mg/l
  • pH value: > 9
  • Permanganate oxygen consumed: not more than 5 mg/l
  • Oxygen content: not more than 0.1 mg/l
  • Content of oil products: not more than 0.5 mg/l
  • ТОС (total organic content): not more than 200 ppb/dm3  
  • Pressure: 64 bar

The process flow diagram of the project under execution involved the application of Jurby WaterTech International's own technologies, namely, the ultrafiltration technology SEPART, as well as, the reverse osmosis and electrodeionization technologies JurbyFlow followed by water deaeration.


The uniqueness of the project is that the company was faced with the task to develop a new set of equipment tailored for an individual technological process based on the chemical composition of raw water, certain environmental conditions and specific Customer requirements regarding the outgoing water. All the works had to be performed in the shortest possible time, before the launch of the Plant.


“We made ourselves responsible for developing within a short period of time a technology enabling to provide a specific quality of water at the outlet that makes up  an essential component of manufacturing process Petroter II. Cooperation with the Estonian subcontractors, AS Napalas and AS Eesti Energomontaaz, was of enormous service to us in implementation of the project. The fact that the construction-related qualifications of employees of these companies fully met our requirements helped us to significantly facilitate the task set before us”, Giedre Naujokaityte, project manager and Head of Marketing, Sales and Service Department, comments.


It is a reminder that in November 2013 Jurby WaterTech International entered into agreement with VKG ENERGIA OU for design, manufacture and delivery of a set of unique equipment to Petroter II. A new water treatment plant is intended for supply of the Plant heat-recovery boilers with feed water continuously and throughout their service life. The production output of Petroter II will amount to 3,000 tons of oil shale per day. In the world, VKG Concern comes second for its oil shale processing capacities after the oil shale processing facility in Fushun, China, and before the oil shale processing company Petrobras in Brazil.
